Overview: The project required a fun dimensional installation with a creative reference to the auto-making history of Detroit.
Skills: Art Direction, Environmental Design, Illustration
Client: Marriott Auburn Hills
I developed the idea of creating a life size model car kit using laser cut metal. The word "fun" was used specifically by the client to refer to the feeling that was to being sought. This gave me the idea of toys. While I never played with toy cars as a kid but I did do a lot of building things, including model cars. Combining the visual language of a model car kit with the history of the area led to a life size model car kit, and a perfect way to tell the local story in a "fun" way.
